The 805 Santa Barbara Water Polo Club's 12U and 14U girls’ teams both won bronze medals at the California Cup Championship in Marin County over the weekend.

Led by coaches Cathy Neushul and Hana Lora Abel, the 14 Girls defeated Arroyo Grande and Royal 559 in bracket play before losing to Diablo in the semifinals.  805 recovered from an 0-3 start against Lamorinda to win 7-6, after Bethany King earned a penalty shot converted by Charlotte Raisin.  

The 14U bronze medalists include Scarlet Akin, Lily Bordofsky, Makena Bygrave, Shea Estabrook, Bethany King, Margaret Watson, Charlotte Raisin and Celia Young.  Megan Garner was outstanding in goal for the 14s.

The Jamie Neushul-coached 12 Girls defeated San Francisco Water Polo Club and Lamorinda in bracket play before losing to Newport Water Polo Club in the semifinals.  The 12s met perennial power 680 Water Polo Club in the bronze-medal Match and won 12-5.

The 12U bronze medalists include Josie Drabik, Grace Goldberg, Juliana Horton, Talia Marshall, Louisa Martinez, Luna Morancey, Charlotte Neushul, Peyton Rosenthal, Wynona Shea, McKenna Stuart and Lucy Watson.  Reagan Mack was outstanding in goal for the 12s.

805’s 12U and 14U boys both placed sixth at the California Cup Championship.
